Christian songwriter and musician. Pacita Hill plays bass and violin. She is the daughter of James Edward Hill who was a fireman and a musician. Her father had 32 years service with the Philadelphia Fire Department. Playing tenor saxophone, he was the first black fireman to join the Philadelphia Police and Firemen's Band. Pacita played in a trio with him, her on bass and her son James II on drums. She covers various genres from rock to jazz. Not known as a singer, she uses her friends to sing on her compositions. Under Pacita's Friends she has released It's All About Jesus in 2004 and 19070725 in 2007. She has also been a member of Christian rock band Offering from Richmond, VA which included Jeanine Guidry and Eric Reynolds as members. It was mentioned in the Letters section of the Southside Sentinel, Volume 112, Number 38, 21 December 2006, she had joined The Sounds of Rapture in the spring of 2006. She was also working on a third Pacita's Friends CD involving Sounds of Rapture. She has had a long career with the Department of Juvenile Justice and is a parole officer. She has been an ordained minister since 1994.
