Klaus Burger

German tuba player, musician and composer, born 2 June 1958 in Amberg, Germany. He studied tuba with Manfred Hoppert at Munich Musikhochschule and with Hans-Joachim Sordel as an auditor at Nuremberg Conservatory. He now works freelance as a tuba player with orchestras and ensembles of international stature and is a much sought-after soloist at leading European music festivals. The main focus of his work falls on contemporary music, and over the years he has premièred and received the dedications of many new works. He also writes music for films, radio plays and theatre productions and composes for the concert hall and for multi-media and improvisation projects. He has received several scholarships to the EXPERIMENTALSTUDIO des SWR.
