Amateur group formed by musicians and friends of Baden Powell and Vinicius de Morais gathered exclusively for the recordings of the album "Os Afro Sambas", organized and conducted by maestro Guerra Peixe. According to Vinícius de Moraes liner notes on the back cover, "To “de-professionalise” the recording as much as possible, we even created what came to be called the “Choir of Friendship”: handpicked friends of ours who came to the recording and, under the guidance of maestro Guerra Peixe – creator of all these notable arrangements that are here – they "burned down the house" in the choir. As to get an idea of the criteria adopted, there was a young notary Eliana Sabino [...]; dancer and actress Betty Faria, [...] my friend Tereza Drummond [...]; my wife Nelita, [...] Dr. Cesar Augusto Parga Rodrigues, psychiatrist [... ] and finally Otto Gonçalves Filho, the popular Gaucho"
