Sascha von Donat

Sascha von Donat graduated in law from the University of Passau and began his artistic career as assistant to Gerard Mortier at the Salzburg Festival. As an acting director, he has worked at the Altes Schauspielhaus Stuttgart, at the Bad Hersfeld Festival, at the Stadttheater Bielefeld, at the Capitol Theater Düsseldorf and in independent productions. Since 2007, Sascha von Donat has been Artistic Director of the Opernwerkstatt am Rhein. At WDR, Sascha von Donat directed several Kiraka Family Concerts, where he worked with Rufus Beck, Ulrich Noethen, Anke Engelke, the Radio Orchestra, the Sinfornie Orchestra, the Choir and the WDR Big Band, among others. Recordings have been produced for many of these.
