Mexican vocalist, musician and composer. Pedro Rosa Acuña, better known as El Clarín Huasteco, is the composer of the authentic Querreque. He was born in 1931 in the community of Cuartillo Viejo, Xilitla, He died January 3, 1964 in Xilitla, San Luis Potosí, México. Pedro managed to create the traditional huapangos that he listened to as a child on the streets of Xilitla. His ability to trovar and his good voice gave him fame in the Huasteca Potosina and its surroundings and despite his refusal to leave Xilitla and the Huasteca, he was incorporated into an artistic tour that took him to various countries including the Middle East. Pedro Rosa Acuña never registered his music and over the years, his compositions became public domain, reporting great economic benefits to other huapangueros and composers who officially presented the creations of the Xilitlense as their own.
