Swedish composer of contemporary music, born 28 March 1954. He is one of the founding members of Ragnarök and has been playing in the band since the seventies. He studied composition at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm 1980–87 for Gunnar Bucht and Sven-David Sandström, among others. He has also participated in a summer course led by Iannis Xenakis in Delphi in 1985. He has also played in the prog-rock band Ragnarök since the seventies. Strindberg teaches composition at Gotland's composers' school and Södra Latins gymnasium and is the initiator of Sound of Stockholm, Stockholm's only festival for contemporary art music. Strindberg was elected a member of the Swedish Composers' Association in 1987 and a member of the Royal Academy of Music in 2007. He is the nephew's son of the North Pole explorer Nils Strindberg and the sculptor Tore Strindberg, whose father, as well as Henrik Strindberg's great - grandfather's father, were cousins of the author August Strindberg. He is the brother of Staffan Strindberg.
