Joe Delon

Originally from Birmingham, UK, but living in Lisbon since late 2014, Joe Delon has a love of disco, house, techno and electro in all their forms, drawing particular pleasure from mixing them in unexpected ways. What links each record to the next is a playful seriousness (or serious playfulness) deriving from a pop sensibility and a love of full-body dancing. A long-term resident at Spaced in London and a regular on the underground circuit across Europe, recent years have seen Joe play further afield (e.g. New York, Marrakech) and on bigger festival stages (e.g. Virgo, Meadows In The Mountains). Other highlights include an appearance at the infamous Breakfast Club afters in Paris and an unforgettable 8-hour back-to-back with Gwenan at Griessmuehle. Joe is also a regular at queer-run events, having played at Kiss Me Again (Manchester), El Cuerpo Del Disco (Madrid), Pumping Velvet (London) and Kit Ket (Lisbon). Online, Joe inaugurated the Pickle Factory live mix series and more recently has provided mixes for Honey Soundsystem, Prosumer's NTS show, The Ghost and Truants. He also keeps a monthly slot – Flamingo – on Lisbon's Râdio Quántica and writes about music and DJing on his Substack newsletter.
