Osiris (55)

Symphonic black metal band from Egypt. In the summer of 1996, a group of five young men from Cairo and Alexandria formed Osiris, one of the pioneers of extreme metal in Egypt. Osiris sound brought about an original style of metal music blended with oriental orchestration framed within an Ancient Egyptian theme, what back then was a unique approach. The demo EP "Storms from the East" was released in the summer of 1997 but soon after, Osiris disbanded the following year only to become a legacy lost within the sands of time. In 2014, Osiris founder Ali Zeid Shinshi revived the project as an attempt to revamp the 1997 demo, which eventually lead to the creation of a return album "Meaders A Soul...". Vocalist Scott Taylor joined in 2016 to complete the evolution of the new Osiris by adding his powerful and melancholic screams to the return album. Just as the deity from the myths, Osiris has resurrected from the dead to once again present rich melodic tunes forged with the elements of metal within a spectrum of light and darkness.
