Jazz, soul, blues and gospel multi-instrumentalist. Simpson is a drummer, organist, keyboardist and vocalist. Born in Massachusetts in 1972, he grew up in Ceres, California. Joining the army in 1989, he was stationed in Germany and then Texas. In Texas, he played drums and keyboards in the band Standing Room Only, later renamed Tunisia from 1993 to 1997 and in 1997 joined Austin, Texas band Hot Buttered Rhythm. Simpson remained in Texas playing with various bands and musicians until relocating to Germany in 2001. He has continued to play music in Europe, creating the Pleasure Unlimited Orchestra in 2008, though he returned to Austin to record his first organ album in 2003.
