Nestor Sybilrud

American trumpeter (born February 5, 1913 in Emmons, Minnesota – died February 11, 2007 in Albert Lea, Minnesota) Played on all recordings of The Viking Accordion Band between 1933 and 1941. In 1942, Sybilrud enlisted in the army and saw action in Europe, including in Normandy, while serving with the 5th Armored Division for the next 4 years. From 1948 until his retirement in 1974, he served as the U.S. Postmaster of Glenville. For many years, he also played trumpet with the Rollo Sissel Band, an area dance band from Austin, MN, and later was a member of the Albert Lea Community Band.
