Настоящее имя: The Westfield Mining Disaster
Об исполнителе:
A British indie pop band from Midsomer Norton, England, formed in 2006 by songwriter Paul Towler. Blending typically British sounding jangle pop with an unusual twist of Americana alt-country, The band's songs favour left-wing politics and personal reflection. The original line-up included Paul Towler (b. 1965 Bristol, England; guitar), Geoff Malkin (guitar), Stewart Black (bass) and Mike Barker (drums). Later members include Liz Black (vocals) and Chris Bennett (guitar). To date, The Westfield Mining Disaster have released music with Cloudberry Records (USA), Vollwert Records (Germany) and Cider City Records (UK). The band's debut album 'Big Ideas From Small Places' was endorsed by BBC Radio 6 on it's release. 'A rare beast, melodic pop with bite! ...they share Paul Heaton’s knack for sneaking barbed social commentary into the most innocent sounding of melodies’ - Vive Le Rock 'The band champion the poor and downtrodden in their lyrics... it's a shame more bands aren't telling tales of what it means to live in the UK in 2010' - Sounds XP 'lovely, witty guitar pop... exactly what's missing from British pop music nowadays (reminiscent of Edwyn Collins and Orange Juice)' - Cactus Killer Radio
