Nelson Palacios

Cuban violinist, singer-songwriter, conductor and bassist, born 21 August 1974 in San Miguel del Padrón, Havana, Cuba. He began his training as a pianist in 1978 at the age of four. In 1982 at the age of eight he began studying as a violinist in Guanabacoa (Cuba). In 1984, at the age of ten, he joined the children's prodigy orchestra "Los Aragoncitos". In 1991, at seventeen, he was part of the orchestra "Melodía Del 40", a year later he became its director. In 1994, at the age of twenty he formed his own orchestra "La Mecánica Del Sabor" in which he experimented with a new instrument: the contrabass. Nelson moved to Paris, France in 2001 and since then he has collaborated with many artists: Carlos Maza, Viktor Lazlo, Raul Paz, Orishas, Paris Salsa All Stars, Touré Kunda etc.
