Melmoth was formed in 1998, in Buenos Aires, by its then compositional nucleus Karen Sudnius and Pablo Almejún. It is there where a series of songs begin to take shape, which after the different modifications in their formation, are shaping a particular sound that would identify the band. Melmoth presents a fusion of diverse musical elements, combining dark and delicate vocal melodies over electronic sequences and stylized orchestral arrangements. The concept of the group and the lyrical work are influenced by classical literature which, in keeping with the music, places the listener in the past through a modern sound. On December 1, 2001, Melmoth made her first live presentation at the Fiesta organized by the radio program 'La Mision de Los Eternos'. For this presentation, the band includes as guests a trio of strings (violin, viola and cello) and percussions, to give acoustic support to the electronic programming. In 2002, Melmoth was part of the electronic compilation 'Plan Identitaat' published in Argentina by the Nullrepublik label and made her second live show. In 2007, the band released their first album entitled 'Living for the Kingdom's Will' released by the Argentine label of dark music Twilight Records. For ten years Melmoth remained in the shadows working on its new material. In 2017, after this period of lethargy, the possibility of reviving the project arose. Lady Aluh took Karen's place as female lead singer in order to take on the challenge. In 2018, Melmoth returns to the stage, with a new line-up, at the Victoriana Masquerade after 10 years of remaining in the shadows. In 2021, Melmoth reformed again after the lockdown with the inclusion of new vocalist Carina Alvarez, the band is currently producing the second album which will be nothing short of a rebirth. The eleven songs it includes are a triumphant re-foundation of the band, new ideas and vigorous sound experimentation.
