Hemanta Goswami

Popularly known as Hemu, Hemanta Goswami joined Bhoomi at the very beginning (Paal Chhutechhe, 2003) and has been the band's lead guitarist ever since. Hemanta learned to play the guitar from eminent guitarists like Nepal Shaw and Amyt Dutta, emphasising Blues and Rock-N-Roll guitar playing styles. He loves R&B music and has been hugely influenced by legendary guitarists like B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Mark Knopfler, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Robert Cray and Santana. Trained in Indian Classical Music under Anjali Rana's tutelage, Hemanta won the prestigious IIT Kharagpur Spring Fest Award when he was only a school student. To his credit, Hemanta has the very successful album "Bengal's Most Wanted", written and composed by him and comprising of the leading vocalists of Bengali Bands. Apart from music, he takes an interest in trekking, rock climbing, cross country cycling and loves swimming.
