Angel María Camacho y Cano

(August 1, 1901 - 1993) Colombian musician and compositor born in San Estanislao. He formed the basis of his musical structure in the 5 years he attended the seminary. His musical activity of him began by becoming the pianist of the Orquesta Lorduy. In 1924 he went to Sincelejo and founded his own Academy. In 1929 he went to the United States and formed a group under the name of Grupo Camacho y Cano and with it made 30 recordings with Brunswick. At that time he also used the pseudonym Rafael Obligado (Rafael Obligado y su Orquesta Costeña) to record some songs. The number of recordings on the discs was this: 12 for the Victor, 14 for the Columna and 88 for the Brunswick. In '31 there was a world crisis and he decided to leave his unpublished repertoire. In 1937 I got married and I have 4 daughters dedicated to music. He recorded in Tropical. In 1963, in Barranquilla, Discos Tropical called me to record several full-length albums on the electronic organ that I had learned in the USA.
