Norwegian troubadour and folk singer, born October 10, 1947 in Bergen, died February 3, 2001 in Bergen. His best known songs are "Tar Du Med Ei Helsing", "Oldefar" and "No Kjem Ein Vals". Known for his folk songs and ballads about the life as a sailor and on the coast. Began writing songs in his early 20s, and provided many local bands with songs for many years before recording any himself. Released his first album in 1975, "A Little Bit of Heaven", where he wrote all the songs and played on several of them, but left it to other musicians to perform most of the album. In 1977, Kleppevik released his first solo album where he performed himself, "Tramp & Trall". Three years later, in 1980, he released it's followup, "Tramp & Trall II". More albums followed in 1984, 1997 and 1999. His 1984 album "North Atlantic Ocean" was nominated for "Album of the Year" in Norway. Died in 2001 of a sudden heart attack, aged 53.
