Swedish conductor, organist and composer, born August 28, 1873 in Karlskrona, died there January 18, 1935. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music 1893-1897. This was followed by studies in Berlin as the state's composer scholarship 1900-1902 for e.g. Max Bruch in composition and Robert Hausmann in conducting. He was a music teacher in Karlskrona 1898-1935 and an organist in the city parish from 1902, and conductor of the music association 1902-1934. He founded the Karlskrona Orchestra Association in 1913 and was its conductor until his death. Sjöberg was elected on March 29, 1930 as member no. 598 of the Royal Academy of Music and was awarded Litteris et Artibus in 1918. He was chairman of the Östra och Medelsta häraders organist, kantors- og folkskollärareförening 1922-1935 and from 1926 chairman of Sweden's general organist og kantorsförening. He was also good friends with colleague Otto Olsson in Stockholm.
