Маргарита Риттих

Margarita Rittikh (07.06.1910 – 11.10.1994) - musicologist. PhD in Art History (1959). She was born on June 7, 1910 in the town of Krapivka, Tula province. In 1939 she graduated from the historical and theoretical faculty of the Moscow Conservatory in the class of M. S. Pekelis, in 1949 she completed postgraduate studies at the Institute of Art History of the USSR Academy of Sciences (headed by T. N. Livanova). Lecturer at the Alexander Glazunov Music School (1937–1939), the Gnessin Music College (1939–1956; in 1949–1956 — head of the department). Since 1945 - teacher at the Gnessin Institute (since 1950 - senior lecturer, since 1965 - associate professor, in 1963-1973 - head of the department of music history). In 1940–1945 - Senior Researcher, Head of the Archival and Manuscript Department of the House-Museum of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (in 1941-1945 - Acting Director).
