Об исполнителе:
Rob Milton has teamed up with Black Spade (Hawthorne Headhunters, This Is The Dope), Gabe Niles (D.R.A.M., Sunny & Gabe), and Stewart Villain (Blu, Tope, Smoke DZA) to piece together his first full length album Rebirth. Along with a team of stellar producers, Rob Milton’s Rebirth also features the visual artwork of Kendrick Daye and Llanakila. Calling it a piece of Funk Pop Art, Rob Milton goes on a journey of self-discovery with this album while also experimenting with different soundscapes. Rob is pulling inspiration from Gnarls Barkley and covers “Who’s Gonna Save My Soul,” and “Transformer,” while also calling on inspiration from fellow New Jersey-natives the Fugees to bring forth the hip-hop-honoring song “Classic.” Milton later flips the script a few more times as he dives back into that funk sound that he has perfected over the years, takes a trip into the 80s with a few synth-heavy numbers and a duet with Jacque Hammond of Black Fantastic, teams up with Chance Fischer for a rock and trap masterpiece, and then brings it all the way back to boombap and inspiration on “Holding On (Your Love).” Milton lead off this new adventure by premiering the funky summer jam lead single “Bad Habit” with AfroPunk. Produced by Black Spade, this ode to toxic relationships is unapologetically black, fun and free, just in time to kick off the summer. In 2014 Ebony Magazine deemed Milton one to watch in their online ‘Introducing’ column, and if nothing else, this vibrant groove proves that to be true.
