Dutch jazz drummer who worked in Sweden for many years, born around 1939, died in March 2014 in Rotterdam. He played in Germany with the 7th Army Jazz Band (among others with Manfred Eicher as bassist), in France with the pianist Rob Franken, in Sweden e.g. with Bobo Stenson, Palle Danielsson, Toots Thielemans, Bob Florence, Bill Holman, Dexter Gordon, Bob Brookmeyer, Phil Wilson, Georgie Fame and Teddy Wilson. In 1975 he made his first recordings with Monica Zetterlund, with whom he worked until the 1990s. In the 1980s he also accompanied the singers Cyndee Peters and Svante Thuresson; he was also a member of the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra. In the 1990s he played with John Högman and Jan Allan; in the 2010s he worked in The Hague Jazz Project (Daydream, 2012). In the field of jazz he was involved in 38 recording sessions between 1975 and 1997, outside of jazz also with Rune Andersson & Lena Nyman, Cornelis Vreeswijk and Sonya Hedenbratt. In 1995 he presented the album Round Midnight with his Johan Dielemans Trio.
