Michael Schubert, born in 1958, graduated as a sound engineer from the Hanns Eisler University in Berlin. He first worked for Rundfunk Der DDR and in 1995 he went to the Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg, where he worked as sound engineer, studio manager and finally chief sound engineer. Michael Schubert has been professor for Music Recording/Tonmeister with a focus on Popular Music at the Detmold University of Music since 2008 and was elected director of the Erich Thienhaus Institute (ETI) in 2012. As a sound engineer he is active in film music production and works with composers such as Ralf Wengenmayr, Harald Kloser, Max Richter, Helmut Zerlett & Christoph Zirngibl.
