Michael Cede

The flutist Michael Cede first studied at the conservatory of his hometown Innsbruck and graduated with distinction. He then continued his flute studies with teachers like Irena Grafenauer, Michael Martin Kofler, Philip Boucly, Paul Meisen and in the "capital of the flute" Paris with Michel Moragues. Michael Cede has received many prizes and awards in Austria and has played (and still plays) as a soloist and chamber musician with artists such as Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Karl-Heinz Schütz, Michael Schöch and ensembles such as "Windkraft", TENM and the "Austrian Ensemble for New Music" (OENM). Concerts have taken him around the world - to Vienna, Amsterdam, Riga, Buenos Aires, New Orleans, Jerusalem, Beijing and many more. For many years he was flutist in the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck and since 2008 he has been teaching as professor for flute at the Tyrolean State Conservatory. Michael Cede is a very versatile artist. He conducts, composes and - after having completed his university degree in architecture - holds lectures and workshops on the cross-links between visual arts and music.
