PeroxWhy?Gen is an American rock band from North Carolina. It was formed in 2003 by the professional wrestlers Jeff Hardy and Shannon Moore. Later on members of the Metal band Burnside 6 joined but then again left PeroxWhy?Gen except Junior Merrill. Shannon Moore also left the band due to his wrestling career. The name of the band is a creation of Jeff Hardy who was looking at an aerosol can. He just combined "peroxide" and "oxygen" and added the special spelling "why?". The name is pronounced "Peroxygen".
