Dave Glyde is an American arranger and composer for marching bands and drum & bugle corps. His international influence on marching percussion arranging is of sizable proportions. His cutting edge arrangements, for the 14 time DCI Champion Concord Blue Devils, (1992-present) have inspired thousands of performers, fans and aspiring arrangers around the world. In addition, Dave has been their music coordinator/director and in-house composer/arranger since 2003. Since 1994 he has earned a total of 6 DCI high drum titles and 8 DCI World Championships. His 2007 musical designs of "Wined Victory," and the undefeated 2009 season of "1930" lead the Blue Devils to their 2 latest l153566 (DCI) World Championships. Dave was hired by the International Olympic Committee to coordinate, design and compose opening ceremony music events for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Bejing, China and for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. Dave's influence on the world of Indoor Marching Percussion has been incalculable ever since his 1993 Clovis West HS group was crowned as the first WGI High School World Class Indoor Percussion Ensemble Champions. Other renowned organizations that Dave has worked with and have performed his arrangements include: The internationally acclaimed Riverside Community College Marching Tigers (1996-2000) & the DCI Class A champion (2002) The Magic Drum & Bugle Corps (The Magic Of Orlando). Dave's percussion arrangements and technical expertise have lead Japan's Soka Renaissance Vanguard drum & bugle corps to an unprecedented 8 national championships through 2008. He has also worked with the Syracuse Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps from Syracuse, NY who have since been awarded an unprecedented 5 DCA world championships (1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002) and three high drum titles (2000, 2001, and 2002). Dave was a snare drummer for the Concord Blue Devils (1984), the Santa Clara Vanguard (1982 and 1983) and The Troopers Drum And Bugle Corps (1981). He began his arranging career for marching percussion his senior year at Hoover High School in Fresno, CA in 1980. Dave is a clinician, endorser and published composer for Yamaha Music Corporation of America, Zildjian Cymbals, REMO inc and Vic Firth inc. His material is published through Arrangers' Publishing Company, Sony Music Corporation and Xtreme Brass LLC. Dave is also an artist/composer member of ASCAP. His own publishing company, "Majorwest LLC," is also registered with ASCAP. The latest projects Dave has been heavily involved in producing and writing for include the "Odyssey" Music Motion Theater show that toured Japan in Fall 2008.
