Swedish music executive. Claes Uggla started his career at the age of 19 hosting and producing the hip-hop show Notion Blend on Lund's University campus radio Radio AF 99,1FM in 1998. The same year he started the collective Basementality Entertainment with K-Real and Double-H. The first project he did was the compilation album In The Basement which he licensed to Bananrepubliken / BMG sweden in 2000 after Petter and Peewee (2) took him in under their wing. Around the same time Timbuktu brought Claes over to Juju Records where he then worked until 2009 with artists Timbuktu, Chords, Helt Off, J-Ro, Promoe, Fjärde Världen, Organism 12, Mobbade Barn Med Automatvapen, Zoro (2) and Sedlighetsroteln. Together with colleauge Mikael Wadström, Claes established Pope in 2006 where they released music with Snook, Petter, Ken Ring, Afasi & Filthy, Maskinen, Style Of Eye and Rebecca & Fiona. They also licensed and released albums in Scandinvia with Wu-Tang Clan, RZA and EPMD. 2010 Claes took a position as A&R and Business Development Manager at Universal Music AB where he worked with Petter, Idol 2011, The Voice Sverige, Så Mycket Bättre, Så Mycket Bättre (Säsong 2) and Nassim Al Fakir as well as Roxy Recordings artists Agnes (5), Sarah Dawn Finer and Amanda Fondell. At the same time Claes was instrumental in licensing Ordinary Things and Drunk In The Morning by Lukas Graham for the Swedish market. He also ran the Tele2 Comviq campaign for Veronica Maggio and the release of her album Satan I Gatan and initiated and launched of the Graveyard (3) beer Hisingen Blues. 2013 Claes started his position as A&R at Sony Music Entertainment Sweden AB where he worked with Petter, BABA Recordings, Hemmalaget and signed Looptroop (2), Aleks (3), Promoe, Finess (2), Sandra Lyng Haugen and Alan Walker (9). Due to the success of Faded, Claes was awarded the Sony Music International Special A&R Award 2016. In 2016 and 2017 Claes worked as A&R Director for Sony Music Australia with artists Guy Sebastian, Steve James (11), DNA (40), Jess & Matt and Cyrus Villanueva. Back in Sweden, Claes joined Ludvig Andersson and his RMV Grammofon which he now operates since 2017 and works with artists Maja Francis, Herbert Munkhammar, Hällas, Gustaf & Viktor Norén, Frida Hyvönen and Kerstin Ljungström. Claes also owns and operates the boutique label Majestic Records & Tapes.
