Born in 1961, Juha Kuivanen is one of the leading choral conductors in Finland. He holds a diploma in conducting and a Master’s degree in music, and teaches choral conducting at the Sibelius Academy. In the course of his career, he has conducted the Savonlinna Opera Festival Choir, the Finnish Philharmonic Choir, the Radio Chamber Choir, the Tapiola Chamber Choir, the Chorus Cathedralis Aboensis in Turku, the Peter Schreier and other choirs. In autumn 2006, he was appointed Chorus Master at the Finnish National Opera.
