Об исполнителе:
The history of Batz Without Flesh began in the winter of 1986, when Claude Willey and John Dugan (4) joined forces due to their shared taste for mutant electronics and because of the demise of avant-noise group "The Moaners" they were in. Fall of 1987 saw Sloth (5) join the line-up. The Batz performed up and down the east coast of US and gained much attention for their unique sound. They released their debut mini LP "Batz Without Flesh" in 1988 through the label Nailed To Sound, which they founded. The record made many waves in underground "death discos" while critics drew comparisons to Suicide, Portion Control, and Alien Sex Fiend. Dugan left the group to pursue a different direction in his music while Willey stayed in control as the main composer / vocalist and continued on with the help of Sloth. Willey and Sloth spent the next year working on "A Million Bricks" which they released in September of 1989. The record also featured input by Vinnie Spit alias Spit (4).1990 saw the departure of Sloth who left the band to join Zen Guerrilla. Claude still went on, this time with the help of Spit and other collaborators. "No Memory" was released in 1991, and it showcased Willey's new stripped-down hypnotic sound. The album was supported by a small US tour with Spit (4). The following year saw the release of their final album "This Liquid". After the break up, Willey went on to record music as Exterior Mirror. The name "Batz Without Flesh" was meant to represent a battle on a spiritual level (Battles Without Flesh).
