American multi-instrumentalist (drums, bass, keyboard, guitar, percussion), vocalist and songwriter. Born June 16, 1948 in Lackawanna, New York. Member of Just Five with bassist Joe Hesse prior to them joining Mellow Brick Road in late 1967, which became The Road. After The Road broke up in 1972, DiStefano relocated to Nashville, where he stayed for 21 years doing studio work and touring with name artists including Marie Osmond, Billy Joe Royal, Janie Frickie, Johnny Rodriguez, David Loggins, T.G. Shepherd, and Kathy Mattea. He signed on as a staff writer for Leon Russell’s Publishing Co., and had success when Joe Cocker recorded his tune, "Shelter Me." With MTM, DiStefano had other tunes recorded by Glenn Medeiros and Johnny Van Zant.
