Twelfth of Never was a rock band formed in central Massachusetts in autumn 1997. Their musical style falls somewhere in the vein of dark ethereal rock with a classic gothic feel. The group originally started as a five-piece, consisting of Matthew Davis (keyboards, drum machine, programming, sequencing, male vocals), Keith Landry (guitar), Ron Miles (bass), Chris Posco (guitar) and Robin Tinker (lead vocals, recorder). Posco left the band in 1999 and the role of second guitarist was a revolving one over the next several years. During the band's existence, they released two full-length albums ("Blowing Bubbles Through Broken Windows" in 1999 and "Things That Were" in 2003), and played numerous live shows around their native New England. Robin Tinker left the band in mid-2004, which ultimately led to a new, expanded line-up (Davis, Miles and Landry, with Victoria Chapman doing vocals, David Strong on drums, Anne Marie Bottcher on cello, Aurora Grabill on violin and Ryan Wynns on second guitar) and slightly different sound. This brought new live energy, and the recording of a 5-song EP ("Winterlost", which was officially released digitally only in 2014). This line-up collapsed with the departure of Chapman, Strong and Wynns in 2006. The band continued on with new vocalist Scarlet Avalon, releasing one song in 2007 ("I Am Not Yours"). Kim Burke replaced Scarlet shortly before the band collapsed completely in the late 2000s, officially ending with Matthew Davis's death in January 2011.
