Claude Malani

Claude Kapukui Malani, Born Claude Kapukui on September 2, 1898 in Waimea, Kauai, Territory of Hawaii, USA. Started as a Chief of Honolulu's Liquor Commission and then married Theresa Kahaule. Both became singers, Theresa, a Contralto for the Royal Hawaiian Band while Claude becomes a saxophonist for Johnny Noble's Orchestra. He was also part of Sam Alama's Orchestra for a little while and went to San Francisco. He wrote a song, Maori Brown Eyes with the help of Johnny Noble. Claude ends his career and entered politics. He tried running for the 5th District as a House of Representative in Honolulu. He did not win but it was ok. Claude died on July 25, 1970 at St. Francis Hospital in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, USA.
