Joseph S. O'Leary

Irish American fiddler (born July 1, 1897 in Bangor, Maine) Born in Maine, Joe O'Leary grew up in Boston. In the 1920s and 1930s, he led one of Boston's most popular Irish bands, O'Leary's Irish Minstrels. O'Leary also hosted the first Irish music program on Boston's radio station WEEI 590 AM. His show featured live performances both of his own band and of other well-known Irish bands, such as Dan Sullivan's Shamrock Band.
