François Pilon

Canadian violinist, engineer and producer from Montréal, Québec. Brother of Gaétan Pilon with whom he co-owned the basement studio Son Soleil from 1977 to 1985. Member of the Ensemble Romulo Larrea since 1995, François began studying the violin at the age of five, with Mr. Hratchia Sévadjian. He graduated from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal where he received a prize with Grande Distinction. He is also co-artistic director of the Le Kiosque à musique collective. François works regularly with artists from the popular cultural scene in Quebec and has participated in numerous music recording sessions for cinema and television as much as a musician as in production. He has also been the assistant to composer and conductor Simon Leclerc since 1999.
