American composer, a.k.a. "Lefty" Lewis (born July 27, 1892 in Derby, Connecticut – died August 24, 1955 in Hollywood, California) Starting in 1932, Harold "Lefty" Lewis worked as a film music composer and occasional performer in Hollywood. Two of his most popular songs became "This Little Piggie Went to Market" (a spin-off of the old nursery rhyme, written with Sam Coslow for the 1934 movie "Eight Girls In A Boat") and "Down In Old Santa Fe", written for the 1934 movie "In Old Santa Fe." Lewis also wrote the music for Syracuse University's fight song, "Down the Field."
