La Banda Sonora El Antillano

As part of the project / documentary El Antillano by filmmaker Tito Román, which aims to raise awareness about the hero Ramón Emeterio Betances and his importance and significance in the Caribbean, a group of the best singer-songwriters and musicians of various musical genres from Puerto Rico and others from sister islands, they have come together to create songs thinking about this important historical figure who has been called the "Father of the Nation". The fruit of this intense creative and reflective process of these musicians, who have been called "La Banda Sonora El Antillano", will be presented in a great concert and put into circulation in a CD entitled Betances Suena Así which will take place on Saturday 9 May 2015 at the historic Theater of the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras at 8:00 PM. El Antillano has been a process of self-management of the filmmaker Tito Román in his passion to rescue one of the most important figures in the history of Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and America: Dr. Ramón Emeterio Betances. The ideological and social thought traces of Betances are traceable and recognized in the Caribbean islands and in Puerto Rico it has not received the recognition and study it deserves. In love and in love with this praiseworthy project and effort of the filmmaker Román, a group of singer-songwriters and musicians have come together for each one to compose a song in which they will tell in it and from each one's style the history and life of the Caborojeño, Caribbean hero and universal.
