Giovanni Duarte

Maestro Giovanni Duarte has conducted the orchestra of Cuba’s National Ballet since 2001 and served as musical director since 2006. He was appointed conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra of the great Theatre of Havana in 2015. Since 2002, he is one of the batons that has most frequently conducted the National Lyrical Orchestra in concerts and staging of plays. In his successful career, he has conducted symphonic orchestras of major cities of the five continents. During 2016, Giovanni Duarte was invited by the Italian Pergolesi Theater Foundation and toured several opera houses of the old continent. The tour was intended to build cultural links and expand experiences in the development of the genre, plus receiving technical and artistic advice in the production of this type of shows. The tour included Madrid Royal Theater and Barcelona Lyceum, ​​in Spain; and the State Conservatory of Music "Jacopo Tomadini", in Italy, among other scenarios. During this tour, he joined the production crew of the operas: "Pagliacci", "Cavalleria Rusticana", and "La Clemenza de Tito", by W.A. Mozart. All of these experiences pursue the future development of opera and Spanish operetta in our country.
