German pianist, teacher, and composer (April 12, 1844 to Dec. 9, 1913), born and died in Berlin, Germany. He studied with his father Theodor Kullak and briefly with Franz Liszt, and later with Wehle and Litolff in Paris. He was a piano teacher (1867–82) and director (1882–90) at his father’s academy in Berlin prior to leading his own Akademie für Höheres Klavierspiel (1891–1900). He prepared a valuable edition of the Beethoven piano concertos and published several piano methods. Composer of an opera, Ines de Castro (Berlin, 1877), orchestral works, piano pieces, and songs.
