This metal-combo is coming from the Tiny Kingdom of Belgium (region Brussels-Leuven). All of its members formerly played in several bands. "ADRIFT", founded in 1994, formed their ultimate line-up in 1996 with the arrival of their leadsinger Stef Linskens. A remarkable fact is that, even before their first concert, there is already a loyal fan basis and one of their first fans was Pâris Vanhaelen. Their music isn't easy to pigeon-hole or even to compare. To make the music more accessible, the musicans put some melody in the heavy compositions and some cover-songs contribute to the recognisable factor. April 1998 gives birth to a new demotape recorded at the Hype Power Recording Studio. His partners in noise are : Mark Gillioen (drums), Jan Corbeel (guitar) and Jurgen Lauwers (bass). In the late 1996, a first demotape was recorded in Brussels. "ADRIFT" already appeared on television, though it was not for promotional purposes, but in their quest for a leadsinger. But it's for sure that they play the heaviest kind of metal in which the lyrics, supported by a very restless rhythm, treat the darker side of life.
