Hazel Barker

Hazel Barker (1927-2016) served as Director of Music Ministries at First United Methodist Church in Rock Island from 1966 until retiring from her position in December of 2003. Following her retirement, she was honored by the church with the title Director of Music Emeritus, and the music room at the church was named for her. Born in Amarillo, Texas, she graduated with honors from the School of Music at Texas Christian University in 1947.
