Nicole Thalìa (born in Rome, Italy as Nicole Di Gioacchino) is an R&B singer-songwriter and vocalist based in London. She started singing at the age of 4 and professionally at 12, to then move to London in 2012 to pursue her music career. She is lead vocalist for Grammy nominated drum and bass DJ High Contrast and member of The Kingdom Choir. In 2018 she has sang with TKC to an audience of 2 billion at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and toured the UK and US in 2019, which highlight was performing at the Hollywood Bowl and sharing the stage with the legend Gladys Knight. She also sang the Lullaby to baby Archie Mountbatten-Windsor live on BBC and in a live session at The Sun. Nicole has appeared and performed on UK, Italian and US Television (including X Factor Italy, the Steve Harvey Show and recently Access Hollywood in Los Angeles with Mario Lopez presenting). Nicole is also highly skilled coloritura soprano with a range of almost four octaves, she impresses in a wide variety of genres with her unique, soulful tone and distinctive vibrato and scales. Her name appears in the soundtrack of Rocketman, the film based on Elton John's life. She has also performed with and recorded for many artists including Paloma Faith, Diversity, Demi Lovato, The Who, Tom Jones, Take That, Geri Halliwell to name a few. Nicole is a singer songwriter in her own right and she has released a few singles in the last two years, including Take Me Away featuring producers ELVNS. Most recently she has brought together 13 artists to record her latest single Give Thanks, which was released on Christmas 2019. The proceeds went entirely to charity in support of the Amazon Rainforest, its biodiversity and the indigenous population affected by the continuous fires. Her new single IF ONLY will be out Friday 17th April 2020, followed by her EP later this year. Born in Rome, Italy, in 1992 her affinity with music was always encouraged by her parents. While most of her friends were listening to the radio, Nicole listened to Led Zeppelin and Frank Sinatra records. At the age of 6 she found herself getting her first opera singing lessons and picked to duet with Italian band Pooh. While still young her family continued to travel often, which gave her the opportunity to grow up in culturally diverse, musically-rich environments. It wasn’t long before she was offered a scholarship at the prestigious world known Teatro Alla Scala in Milan, which she turned down to persue a different musical path. At 12, Nicole attended Cinecittà Campus, soon being followed by some of the most important names in the national show business, including Maria Grazia Fontana, who trained her for the following 8 years. At the age of 14 Nicole started working on her first original single with Italian legendary singer and producer Teddy Reno and joined gospel choir SAT&B. Although her very young age, it wasn’t long before her unique skills were quickly noticed: Nicole attended Saint Louis College of Music in Rome and got the lead female role in “’68 Italian Rock” Musical, getting to perform in Rome's most important theatres for almost two years, while still attending high school and performing with her few bands all over Italy. National newspapers such as “Il Messaggero” and “Il Corriere della Sera” described Nicole as “a young, eclectic talent”. 2006 and 2011 Nicole’s name became well known and her reputation often proceeded her in the Italian music scene. She was backing vocalist to Italian singer Giorgia and American rapper Coolio, and vocalist on National Italian TV shows (Domenica In, Big Brother Italian Edition). Nicole was also selected as the youngest soprano for the Promessi Sposi Production by Michele Guardì, which preview held in Milan’s Dome and broadcasted nationally on TG3. In 2010 Nicole was selected as one of the six finalists in the Judges Houses section of the hit TV Show X-Factor Italy. In 2011 she took part of Rock City, getting truly and serious advices and compliments from Leon Hendrix, Jimi Hendrix's brother. Between 2010 and 2012 Nicole collaborated with M° Luca Ruggero Jacovella and world known famed trumpeter and film score composer Cicci Santucci (Ennio Morricone), performing in some of the finest Jazz venues in Rome. In late 2012 Nicole decides to move to London to persue her dreams and in early 2013 joined Urban Voices Collective, London’s leading vocal harmony collective (2012’s Olympic Games Choir). The list of artists Nicole has performed and collaborated with include Paloma Faith (BBC Proms 2014, BBC Awards), Sigma, Labrinth (TV BAFTAS 2015), Lionel Richie, Gary Barlow (Royal Variety Performance 2013), The Who (US Broadcast), Rita Ora, Sir Tim Rice, producer and composer David Arnold, Coldplay, Diversity (Got To Dance, Invictus Games, Up Close And Personal Tour 2015), Tom Jones, Alfie Boe (VE Day 70) , Geri Halliwell and more.
