Gérard Gesina

Drummer, composer, arranger. Born in Algiers, he began studying piano and percussion at the Academy of Music and then works drums with Dante Agostini and Kenny Clarke. For nearly 30 years he was the drummer for Juliette Gréco with whom he toured worldwide. He accompanied many entertainers, for instance Annie Cordy for whom he wrote Viens Prendre Un Verre (the B-side of La Bonne Du Curé). With Johny Rech he composed Odyssey 81 for Georges Zamfir who recorded it with the London Symphony Orchestra. He has also participated in recording sessions and musicals such as Hello Dolly, La Vie Parisienne or Le Comte De Monte Cristo with famous conductors such as François Rauber, Armand Migiani and Michel Legrand. Moving into music composition and sound design and background music, he has composed music for television shows such as 7 Sur 7 (presented for 15 years by Anne Sinclair on TF1), Tele Foot, Auto Motor, Sport Dimanche, Roland Garros. He also wrote music for advertements by brands such as: Maison Verte, Saint Hubert, Continental Airlines, Brandt, Knorr, Saveol, Ferrero, Foie Gras Bizac, 5 à Sec, Alinea, etc.)
