British producer, promoter, journalist, TV & radio presenter, DJ and music executive. Married to Billie Laine (second wife). Founder of Tony Hall Enterprises (1967), Openchoice Ltd. (1972), Doctor Snuggles Music Ltd. In early 50s was involved in the London's jazz clubs scene and was hired by Decca as A&R man in 1954. He revived the subsidiary Tempo Records (5) producing sessions by jazz players such as Ronnie Scott, Tubby Hayes, Dizzy Reece and Victor Feldman for the label. As part of his work for Decca between late 50s and 60s, Hall presented regular sponsored pop music programmes on Radio Luxembourg and was one of the hosts on the "Oh Boy!" TV show. He also contributed a regular column to the pop music weekly Record Mirror, which Decca owned. He also managed the promotion and distribution of Atlantic Records product in the UK. Hall left Decca in 1967, and formed the UK's first independent promotion company, Tony Hall Enterprises, which was responsible for promoting acts including Jimi Hendrix, Joe Cocker and [a144998], whom he help to sign their first record deal with Vertigo.
