Martin Veerman (January 31, 1954 - August 29, 2013) was a Dutch singer, drummer and songwriter. He played for Coffin, Jen Rog, 3JS and in the duo Veerman & Schilder. Veerman grew up in a musical family. His brother Cees played in The Cats and his brother Harmen in Left Side. Since the early seventies he was also a professional musician. He first played for the band Coffin. Together with band member Jaap de Witte, along with Progress members Theo van Scherpenseel and Peter van Bergen, they founded the country rock formation Jen Rog in June 1972. He played in this band until 1995. In 1994 he was part of the duo Veerman & Schilder. In that year they released the album 8831865. Together they wrote the single 12218827. About twenty years after its release, in 2013, it came back in the Volendammer Top 1000, as well as some other songs that he (co) wrote. He also played for a number of occasional bands, such as X-Ray (34) and Swing Fellas, and was part of the 3JS for a while. He also wrote songs. He already did this for Jen Rog, such as the single Rosalia (1977) and the songs Sandy (1977) and Nighttime (b-side of Jimmy's Gonna Get You) (1980). He also co-wrote two songs for the solo album Another Side Of Me (1976) by Cees Veerman. Anny Schilder reached the Tipparade with his composition Mandola Mandoline (1986) and Next One reached number 49 of the National Hit Parade with his composition I Love You So (1980). Around February 2010 Veerman was diagnosed with ALS. In March 2013 he was seen in the television program Man bijt hond. In the summer of that year he died from the consequences of his illness.
