Bokenäsets Ådra is an association active in central Bohuslän that since the late 1970's has devoted itself to exploring and reusing the Bohuslän song, song and dance tradition. They have played, sung and danced with and for each other - spontaneous and often brittle - but also quite well arranged for paying audiences. They have produced songbooks, an LP, a cassette tape with children's songs (sold in 11,000 copies - one of Sweden's most widespread folk music phonograms!). They have arranged circles and weekend courses, cottages, parties, Folk Music Day at Bohuslän's museum, cooked according to traditional recipes and explored local traditions, customs and crafts.
