The Varsitones

American vocal quartet from Cincinnati, Ohio. They recorded and performed with Ralph Flanagan And His Orchestra in the 1950s. The quartet was originally called "Varsitones" but was renamed "The Singing Winds" after the Flanagan song with the same name. They debuted with Flanagan on November 27, 1950, at the Casa Loma Ballroom in St. Louis, Missouri. Line-up (1950): John Ziegler (aka Johnny Ziegler, founder, leader, and arranger), Jack Gutjahr, Barbara Busch, and Wes Lay.
