Lillian Gish were a UK band, at various times located in London, Glasgow and Brighton, originally founded in late 2008 as "Sunlight Machine" by James Beadnall (aka Treeline) and Lexi C.M.K Turner (aka Mercy El), changing their name with a re-release of their first album, "This Is Not An Exit." Committed to having a different sound and approach to production with each album, and no live performance sounding or looking the same, Lillian Gish spanned genres ranging from shoegaze to acid house to noise-folk to doom-jazz, before splitting amicably in 2015.
