Joaquin Solorzano

Producer, bassist, songwriter, San Francisco-based. He was born in Managua, Nicaragua, Central America. His father Joaquin Sr., moved his family to San Francisco, CA when Joaquin was 3 years old. The San Francisco music scene was a big influence on him. He started playing music at the age of 8, and at 14 he played rhythm guitar and bass in his family band. Joaquin went on to play with some of the San Francisco Bay Area’s greatest musicians and was the bass player for the legendary Latin-rock band MALO (2) from 1986 – 1994. He has toured extensively and has shared the stage with such acts as Santana, Eddie Palmieri, The Neville Brothers, Tower of Power, Pete Escovedo, Sheila E, and Jefferson Starship among others.
