The Sticky Hippos

Formed in 1986 by then 15-year-old Peter Welch. At first they were a synth-laden new wave quartet. When Welch realized his guitarist couldn't play, he enlisted the aid of Aaron Tap, who recorded tracks which were then played on tape at live performances. Before long, the band split up and Welch and Tap formally set up as a duo.
