Brent Hutchins, now professionally known as London Hutchins, was born in Flint Michigan. At the tender age of 14, London packed his bags and relocated to California where his first band, ‘Whose Image?’ was offered a recording contract with Quincy Jones' label, Quest Records. Whilst in California as a young adult, London attended the American Film Institute where such alumni included George Lucas of the Star Wars trilogies, as well as Woody Allan and others. London set his sights on The Walt Disney Corporation where he captured the attention of C.E.O. Michael Eisner, who in 1989 offered Hutchins an exclusive recording contract as Disney’s first solo recording artist with the newly formed label, Hollywood Records. London was subsequently introduced to many talented individuals in the world of music and film. One of these individuals was Director/Producer Steven Spielberg – famous for his movies E.T, Jaws, Jurassic Park and Arachnophobia. Hutchins also met Frank Marshall & Kathleen Kennedy, producers of The Bourne Identity trilogies. Impressed by Hutchins’ abilities, they asked him to write the theme song for Hollywood Pictures’ first film ‘Arachnophobia’. This was in collaboration with Steven Spielberg’s entertainment company, Amblin’. At this time, Hutchins was represented by Grammy Award winning Manager/Producer of the decade Peter Asher, president of the Beatles label Apple Records, and manager to James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt and Joni Mitchell. As London's name and reputation grew, he penned songs with artists Lionel Richie, Diana Ross and the Jacksons. Soon after, he signed a publishing deal with the world's largest music publishing company E.M.I. during which he was represented by renowned manager Joe Ruffalo – who also managed Earth Wind & Fire and Prince. Having moved to New York, Hutchins signed his second exclusive deal with The Hit Factory/Astoria Entertainment. It was during these years that London conceived 'Loving Education', an album of original Pop/R&B inspired ballads and soulful grooves. 'Loving Education' is co-produced by Grammy Award winning producer Ray Bardani, and features legendary singer Luther Vandross, vocalist Sharon Bryant, guitarist Nick Moroch, trumpeter Jon Faddis, percussionist Carol Steele and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta. In addition to his respected career as a solo artist and writer, London has in recent years performed at the Folk Arts Theatre in Manilla Phillipines, toured and performed in concert with British pop sensation Matt Goss and also with Grammy Award winning artist Mariah Carey. He has performed on Britain's Top of the Pops, and in 2007 opened London Fashion Week in the UK. London is signed to the hot new record label Ladybird Recordings.
