Japanese rock / indie pop / new wave group fronted by Satoe Nanaki. The singer Satoe and guitarist Ichiro's previous band Mahalik Halili eveolved into Nanaki & The Spice when they relocated to the U.S. in 1992. They created the music and worked with David Campbell and local Los Angeles-based musicians including Justin Meldal-Johnsen and Tony Hoffer, who were members of a band called This Great Religion at the time, as new additional members. The band released two albums and performed shows in the U.S. and Japan.
