Robert Rignold

Bob began his musical life as a cornet player in a Salvation Army Band. In 1949 he raised The Northern Command Band. Between 1950 and 1952 he studied at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall. While studying he was a member of the Trumpeters Of The Royal Military School Of Music and performed at the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. He was the first Bandmaster of The Band Of The Royal Military College when it was raised in 1954. After service as Bandmaster of The 1st Recruit Training Battalion Band, he retired from the Army.
